ABEL (15) Verdict: ALTHOUGH this debut-directed film by actor Diego Luna (Y Tu Mam Tambin) doesn't quite deliver what it promises, the idea of a mute boy turning vocal and trying to replace his father in the family home certainly has an edge.
After being sent away for two years Abel - superbly played by the untrained Christopher Ruz-Esparza - is sent back home for one last week before he faces being institutionalised for good.
