Summary
On Indian restaurant plan for former Jug Of Ale pub Another perfect example of why Birmingham is viewed as a backward thinking, dead-in-thewater city. Where do they think a next OCS will be able to cut their teeth? This is typical of why Manchester, Liverpool, Leeds and Newcastle are all seen as the second cities. Oasis, New Order, Stone Roses, Smiths, Joy Division, the list is endless that Manchester can be proud of and draw attention to its vibrant creativity. That attracts business to that city and employment which creates an energy and buzz that this stagnant backwater doesn't have. We can do without another budget restaurant.
Winston Smith It would help if people got their facts right as the Jug of Ale still has a Premises Licence that would be transferable to the new restaurant Barnard On a new body scanner at Birmingham Airport I think that security is something that we all need to be mindful of and if the airport need to install full body scanners then so be it, providing that people's modesty can be protected and images are immediately destroyed (unless they are needed for evidence). My gripe with Birmingham Airport is the lack of knowledge of all the ground handling and airline staff in the airport. Their inadequacies and inability to listen to the information I was telling them or check their computer system correctly ending up costing me an extra pounds 200 before I was allowed to check in. I was right and they were wrong. Eventually, I got my money back (minus the credit card handling fee) from the airline but I had to put up a fight for it and they wouldn't admit liability, blaming me for not having the correct travel documents.See the full content of this document
