A BENEFIT cheat has been ordered to pay back over pounds 75,000 she illegally claimed over an eight-year period.
Margaret Dawes, aged 59, of Kennet, in Belgrave near Tamworth, was also handed a six-month prison sentence, suspended for 18 months, when she pleaded guilty to unlawfully claiming benefits at Stafford Crown Court on December 3. She told authorities she was living alone to claim housing benefit, council tax benefit and income support when she was in fact living with a partner who was in full time work.See the full content of this document
