Summary
WORK is set to start on a pounds 6.5 million cycling programme which encourages commuters to trade in gasguzzling cars for bikes. Cyclists living in Erdington and Sutton Coldfield are set for a number of new routes in a bid to make roads more bikefriendly.
Work on the first phase of the four-year project is due in Sutton town centre in January, with other routes planned in Erdington town centre and past train stations, shops, schools and work places. The project, called Bike North Birmingham, is funded by a pounds 4.1 million government grant secured by Birmingham City Council and a National Lottery-funded Sustrans Connect2 project.See the full content of this document
