Despite keeping Fulham scoreless two weeks earlier, O'Neill opted to make three changes to his back four by handing debuts to summer signings Stephen Warnock, Richard Dunne and James Collins. And despite their unfamiliarity, the trio impressed, alongside Carlos Cuellar at right-back, to keep Blues at bay. "I was very pleased with all three (debutants)," admitted O'Neill. "I thought their performances were excellent, considering that they really only had Friday and Saturday to acquaint themselves, except the fact that Steve signed a little bit earlier than the other two.
