THERE is no doubt that Ashley Blake broke the law. On impulse he acted unlawfully, leaving a young lad injured and permanently scarred and, to make matters worse, he lied to the police.

But two years imprisonment? Rapists, child abusers and serial criminals have been known to get less time than this.
