Summary


MANY former MG Rover workers have been stunned by the recent announcement that, after the best part of four and a half years of investigations, the Government report was not to be released but handed over to the Serious Fraud Office.

The involvement of the SFO was called for in 2005 but was knocked into the long grass by what was promised to be a speedy report by the DTI. The length of time this has taken is staggering. While the delay is bad enough, the pounds 15.9 million cost of the inquiry is an insult to the 6,300 workers who lost their jobs in April 2005.
