AN INQUEST was due to open today into the death of a 56-year-old Birmingham mum who died from multiple organ failure following a gallstone operation.

Barbara Dockery, from New Oscott, Sutton Coldfield, should have left Spire Hospital Little Aston the morning after she went in but contracted post-operative pancreatitis and died 22 days later.
