CHECKING YOUR ROOF Assessing your roof for wear and tear does not necessarily require you to climb up on to the roof itself. A much safer way is to take a pair of binoculars and stand at the end of your garden and scan the roof from a distance. You should leave climbing on to your roof to professionals who make thorough safety checks.

BROKEN WINDOWS If the glass in your window is fractured but has not fallen apart, put on a pair of safety gloves and gently apply masking tape across the window several times. This will ensure that if it completely breaks you are not left with dangerous shards of glass all over the floor. Once the window pane is secure, contact a specialist to replace it.
