Summary
GREEN ZONE (15) Verdict: MATT Damon reunites with his Bourne director Paul Greengrass and the result is another compelling, action-packed thriller with shaky camerawork. Setting the story in Iraq, though, blunts the whole enterprise like many other recent Middle East dramas. Damon plays fictional US Army warrant officer Roy Miller in a post-invasion Baghdad. The Bush administration needs proof of the WMDs to legitimise its attack, so Miller needs to find some - and quickly. Although written by LA Confidential's Oscar- winning Brian Helgeland, Green Zone can't match this year's Oscar- winning film The Hurt Locker for military believability - but it's still a powerful example of modern filmmaking. Also available to buy on DVD for pounds 19.99 / Blu-ray pounds 24.99 or as a Limited Edition Steelbook (Blu-ray pounds 27.99).
VALENTINE'S DAY (12) Verdict: A FILM starring everyone from Jessica Alba to Kathy Bates, Jessica Biel, Patrick Dempsey, Jamie Foxx, Jennifer Garner, Topher Grace, Anne Hathaway, Ashton Kutcher, Queen Latifah, Shirley MacLaine and Julia Roberts can't be unwatchable, right? Well, Pretty Woman director Garry Marshall tries his best with cast of more than 20 major protagonists all floundering in a sea of treacle. Watch this LA-based alternative to Love Actually and your sweet tooth might need a dentist. Also available to buy on DVD for pounds 19.99 or Blu-ray pounds 24.99.See the full content of this document
