A HISTORIC factory in Birmingham that was rescued from demolition by the city council opened its doors to the public over the weekend.
Newman Brothers Coffin Works, in the Jewellery Quarter, produced fittings for the coffins of royalty, celebrated its new ownership by holding the open day. It was given a rescue package of pounds 150,000 by the council and Birmingham Conservation Trust and will undergo a pounds 1.2 million restoration.See the full content of this document
