THE devastated chairman of Hilltop Golf Club has blasted the city council for not carrying out a consultation process before making the decision to close the course.

Norman Munslow is furious that the members and committee have not been consulted after it emerged that the Handsworth-based course would close on January 1. Last week the Birmingham Mail exclusively revealed the news. The 68-yearold said it was the first he had heard. Yesterday the Mail revealed that Birmingham leisure bosses have drawn up plans for cycle race circuits and paths, a velodrome, a BMX route and a stunt cycle park on the golf course.
