Alooms, it seems that more than half of parents are struggling with 'back to school' costs, according to research by charities Save the Children and Family Action.

The majority of parents (51 per cent) with an income of pounds 30,000 or less - the national average is pounds 28,000 - are concerned about the cost of school supplies, and 28 per cent are worried that their children's education will suffer as a result of financial hardship.
