Pauline Played Her Part in the Local Community ; Your Lives: Pauline Was an Inspiration

HEARTFELT tributes have poured in for a popular Solihull woman who died last weekend. Pauline Brand, who was the founder of Solihull's Union Theatre, died aged 76. The grandmother-of-two was heavily involved in the Scout and Guide movement, with her late husband John, who both ran Solihull South Venture Scout Ranger Guide unit for 20 years. The pair also helped run the Christ Church youth club.

DAVID Brown, who has died aged 71, was a proud family man who worked for many years at Cadbury and carton manufacturer Boxfoldia. Nazi Germany's bombing raids in the early part of WWII destroyed David's home in Weoley Castle and forced the family to move temporarily to Stourbridge.

JOSEPHINE Hendry, who has died aged 66, will be fondly remembered for many reasons but especially her "outrageous" sociability. She could be thousands of miles from Birmingham, where she lived for the vast majority of her life, but would still bump into someone she knew, such was her personable nature.
