Pupils put heart into cookery film ; Recipe VEGETABLE STIR-FRY DELIGHT: Find out how you could be more healthy - go to www.birminghammail.net/change4life

READY, Steady, Cook! Pupils at a Midland primary school were able to get to grips with kitchen rights and wrongs when a cookery roadshow rolled into town. Moat Farm Infant pupils were picked as part of a campaign to help put healthy eating at the heart of the classroom. The children at the school in Brookfields Road, Oldbury, were filmed putting their new-found knowledge into practice, presenting their culinary skills as if they were on a live cookery programme.

POLICE today appealed for the victim of a satellite navigation theft to come forward after a man was arrested on suspicion of theft. Officers were flagged down by the victim in Bristol Road South, Longbridge, at 10.15am on Thursday saying he had just had his sat nav system stolen from his van.

RAF cadet duo prove their skill during gliding course

THE sky's the limit for two RAF cadets who have been awarded their gliding wings. Sgt Thomas Rooney and Cpl Thomas Gerard, both 17 and from Solihull School, completed their training with volunteer gliding squadrons at Watton Airfield, in Norfolk, and Royal Marines Condor, near Arbroath.
